The discovery of the Sacred City of Caral in 1994 was a landmark in the history of the world.  Carbon 14 tests made in 2000 proved its antiquity to be more than 2627 BC.  As a result, Caral became the oldest city in South America and the second in the world.  Furthermore, together with Machu Picchu it is one of our most valuable UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The civilization of Caral fluorished around 5000 years ago simultaneously with the Egyptian one.  At that time people of Caral in this side of the world were also building stone pyramids.  In this tour to Caral you will have chance to walk around and admire seven stone-made pyramids. 1,546 acres (646 ha) The biggest one is 18 mts high with a size equivalent to 4 soccer fields.  Not only the pyramids but most of the buildings had a religious function.
